What Is Mattea Up To Now?

Look what my little Mattea is up to now. Basketball - yikes. Dave and I HATE basketball and most competitive sports for that matter and so when Mattea asked me if she could learn to dribble a ball I was mortified. But, the YMCA has a great little program that introduces kids 3-5 to sports and this month happened to be basketball. So Monday morning we headed over to the local Y dressed in workout clothes and our water bottles and Mattea learned to stretch, warm up, run laps, and dribble. Her coordination is most amusing but she had a good time. There is another little girl in her class which made it even more fun. I'll keep you updated about whether or not she ever makes a basket...

Oh my goodness!! I can't believe she asked you to join! I think that awesome, and the fact that there's only two girls in the class makes it even better! Miss Mattea, I'll cheer you on even if you never make a basket!

I think it is great. As you know, my family has always been very involved in basketball. Although it may not be a favorite of yours, it will be some GREAT memories that Mattea has to look back on if she finds that she enjoys it! Psst! Here's a little secret....the only reason I made my first few baskets was because of my brothers friend that coached me would lift me up in games so I could dunk.. :) I was a tiny little thing too!!!
