Before I start this post, I'd like to just take a minute to thank all those service men and women both past and present who have made this day possible - including my dear sweet husband. Thanks for your commitment.
With that being said, our family decided to pack up and head out of town for part of our holiday weekend. We got a beautiful lakeside hotel in McCall.
Although we were there only a couple of days, we definitely kept ourselves busy ~ despite ridiculously cold temperatures and rain.
We did some driving around through one of the national forests where the girls were able to see some "real live deer. Real ones."
We also hit up the local ice rink for the girl's first encounter with ice skating. More on that in a following post.
And of course, no trip to McCall would be complete without a trip to the Pancake House. I think the girls are still talking about the size of their pancakes. I know my thighs are still feeling the effects. It was nice to get away and concentrate on nothing but having fun. No house work, no cooking, no laundry, no dishes. Just a whole lot of fun with the people I love the most!

Sounds and looks like a great few days away! I'm so glad all four of you got away for some much needed time together!
