(1) husband away on travel + (2) children whose mother doesn't serve them chocolate = (1) 31 year old lady who gets an entire pan of snicker doodle cake all to herself.
(1) 31 year old chocolate loving lady + (1) hour of intense running = the ability to eat an entire pan of snicker doodle cake without guilt!!
That's right everyone, in less than 48 hours, the entire pan of snicker doodle cake that my dear husband David cooked for me went from this.....
to this.....
And at the request of many, I'm sharing the recipe.
May I remind you, I have never, ever, ever, cooked this cake always my husband or mother (as my traditional birthday cake) but they say it is rather easy - especially if you have two little girls that help unwrap all the caramels.
Snicker Doodle Cake
1 German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Stick of Margarine
3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips
1 Package Caramels
1/3 Cup of Milk
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
*Prepare cake mix, following package directions
*Pour 1/2 the batter into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
*Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
*Melt caramels with margarine and milk in saucepan over low heat - stirring frequently.
*Pour over baked cake.
*Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
*Spoon remaining cake batter over caramel layer.
*Bake at 250 degrees for 20 minutes.
*Increase temperature to 350 degrees and bake an additional 10 min.
Hope you enjoy. Remember, if you decide to try this awesome cake, leave me a comment or a link to your blog. I'll be anxiously waiting.
ENJOY!!!!!
